What to do with leftover puff pastry ? MiniCook made them into jam donuts when he was little; Personally I tend to nibble raw dough, what is wrong ! This time, I had no biscuits to go with my fruit salad, so I took advantage of falling pulp to concoct small twisted sweet. It had a taste of palm and it goes wonderfully with my strawberry salad, I was delighted. A nice recipe which is also a great gift when you're invited to dinner; think about it on Sunday and offer your Mom a bunch of pastry twists…
Pastry twists
Prep : 10mins
Cooking : 20-25mins
Serves 6 people
- puff pastry
- 3 tablespoons of cream
- brown sugar
Pre-heat the oven to 180°C/Gas 4.
Cut the puff pastry into strips of 1,5 cm wide.
Using a brush, Brush the slices of fresh cream 2 sides and sprinkle with brown sugar.
Twist the strips by pinching the ends with your two thumbs before putting them on a sheet of baking paper on a tray.
Bake at 180 degrees for 20-25min until golden brown and caramelized. Flip over the twists halfway if necessary.
Let cool a few moments before serving as an accompaniment to an ice cream or a fruit salad.
The twists can be kept a week in a tin box.
