Quick message to complete the buffet for fifty guests which wasn't complete without the dessert of course! You already know the brookies and Green tea cookies (prepared in a miniature version for the buffet: proportions multiplied by 2 to obtain 50 miniatures, but cooking time reduced by 2 minutes according to the format) but it is an opportunity to introduce you to one of the recipes of when I was a little girl: The Mars bars cake! This is a recipe I learned when I was in boarding school in England when I was 10 years old. It was one of the only recipes I could do and my mother could offer many other cakes, my brother and I would only want the Mars bars cake. I had not prepared one in a very long time not even because I had gotten tired of it, but because Rice Krispies were hard to find (there are a key element of the cake) in France. I brought some from London especially for the recipe and the taste of the cake was the same as in my memories: addictive! I think it can be prepared with crispy rice that you can easily find in organic food shops.

Before I let you discover the recipe for the Mars bars cake, here's a recap of the entire buffet for 50 people if you want to borrow ideas. You will find all the recipes by clicking on the link in each category:

Prep : 15mins
Cooling : 3hr

Serves 8 people

- 1 package of 5 Mars bars
- 125g butter
- 250g Rice Krispies (or any crispy rice)

In a saucepan, melt the butter and Mars bars cut into bits over low heat. Stir constantly until the pieces of Mars bars are completely melted (it can take at least 10 minutes).

Pour the melted mixture into a bowl and add the Rices Krispies slowly, stirring gently every time you add. All Rices Krispies must be coated with the mixture.

Pour into a baking dish and press down with a spoon to flatten the surface .

Put in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours, until the mixture is still. Then cut into squares directly in the dish.
